I work primarily with glass and metal- timeless materials that are found in almost every culture in the world. Glass and metal offer a range of possibilities- in form, texture, color, and contrast. They are both worked using similar processes, yet the resulting materials are very different. My work pushes the boundaries of these elements through experimental techniques. I am always learning from the materials while investigating different aspects and creating new ways for them to interact. Sculpture is a catalyst for communicating an idea or invoking thought. Glass and metal inspire me - the creative process is captured in the work- a creative process that surrounds us and defines life as we know it at it's very root.
My work is infused with spirit and reflects on the everlasting nature of life. By looking into the past while opening a window to the future, I consider what it means to be human and how little that has changed over time. This is one of the major themes in my work. As it continues to evolve, I hope to communicate our common bonds- through our collective history, and now as part of a global community with an uncharted voyage ahead.
